Pro Wrestling Review: Wwe Various Topics

What's up everybody and welcome back to pro wrestling review. I haven't been doing weekly raw reviews lately because I've been very busy with school starting again and I've been doing some other wrestling articles. Anyway in this article I want to give all of my thoughts on everything that's going on in wwe.

Wwe Title Picture

I really liked the new corporation storyline immediately following Summerslam; the last week or two before night of champions got somewhat repetitive but the ending to NOC has fixed things. It helped bring me back into storyline and now I'm really liking again.

Besides just making the storyline more interesting, the ending to night of champions has also helped with character development, mainly for Randy Orton's. For the first the month after summerslam he was just a heel that Triple H kept talking up to the moon every week. After NOC though when he got chewed out by Stephanie McMahon he's been and amazing heel. With those vicious attacks on the Miz and RVD his character has gotten great and now I can say that he's wwe's biggest current heel at least wrestler wise. I'm a little confused to why they did the ten or however many it was on three thing with Daniel Bryan and his crew vs the shield last week but I'm going to give them the chance to explain that more on raw before I give my full opinion on that situation.

The new corporation storyline had also been doing the supporting characters in a lot of good as well. For one it's gotten Justin Gabriel and Zach Ryder on tv; I think wwe dropped the ball with both of them and I'd love to see them get somewhat of a tag team push. Also Dolph Ziggler's been doing some good stuff against Dean Ambrose and the other shield members seem to be getting into a feud with the Prime Time Players and the Usos. The tag team division has really heated up lately; it probably has something to do the fact that it's now involved in the main storyline so I guess wwe figured they'd better put some effort into it. I wish they would put that effort into it all the time though; hopefully this will last and they then they can get a really good tag team division going.

Also the Miz has actually been entertaining! I'm really glad that they took him out of that feud with Fandango and involved him in the new corporation storyline. Getting completely destroyed by Randy Orton was the best thing that's happened to him all year in the wwe. Judging by what happened last week on raw I'm kind of thinking that he might be starting a feud the Big Show. As far as the Big Show goes this whole thing where Stephanie and Triple H force him to attack different people is starting to get old. I hope they have a direction in mind to go with it. I'm thinking that he might start feuding with the Miz as kind of a tweener; Miz thinks that no matter what Big Show shouldn't let himself be manipulated by the McMahons to do terrible things. Then maybe Show gets mad at Miz and they have a match at maybe hell in a cell and then Big Show ultimately chooses which side he's on. That's how I could see it going.

The Rhodes Situation

Also how could I forget Cody Rhodes; he's the person that's been getting the most success from this storyline besides Daniel Bryan. That match that he had against Randy Orton a few weeks ago on raw was awesome. Not only because it was a darn good match but because it set into motion the storyline that could make Cody Rhodes a big star in wwe. I thought that wwe had dropped the ball with him after they turned him face and I thought he was going to stay in the midcard until he'd eventually fall down the card.

Now that's happened to a ton of people with just as much talent as Cody Rhodes luckily it looks like it won't be happening to him. It was cool to Golddust back and he hasn't missed a beat from being gone for nearly three years; that match he had with Orton was very good. Then how can you forget that great segment between Dusty Rhodes and Stephanie McMahon in which she eventually had Dusty knocked out by Big Show. I really liked that they did that because now Cody and Goldust have something to fight for besides just Cody's job, the corporation had their father taken out. I also like how they've been playing up the history between the McMahon and the Rhodes families; that's added a nice touch to the feud.

I'm really exited to see what they do next with this storyline and I hope they don't have to rush things with the ppvs being so close together this time of year. I'm really glad to see Cody get this opportunity and I think that he can be a huge star in wwe heel or face. I wish they would give this kind of great storyline material out to more talented young stars.

The CM Punk and Paul Heyman Saga

Right now this feud is basically just killing time until Brock Lesner eventually returns. It's been pretty entertaining though. I thought last week's segment was very good and I liked how CM Punk tied the Chicago Balckhawks into his promo.

The first segment of Ryback being a Paul Heyman was very strange and I haven't seen raw from last night yet but I heard that it got even stranger. I'll talk more about that in my in a different article though probably my Battleground preview.

I've been trying to guess when Brock Lesner is going to return; I'm thinking it'll be either at Hell in a Cell since the match would make since in that stimulation.  Survivor Series since that's one of the top four ppvs. Maybe TLC since that's becoming somewhat of a big ppv and a tlc type match sounds like a good idea for those two. Lastly of course wrestlemania, that would depend on if wwe doesn't want to have Lesner and Punk face other people at that show. I'm guessing that they're rematch is going to take place at one or two of those shows.

I hope you enjoyed this article; I'll have Battleground preview out this weekand also a few other articles are coming as well.

Pro Wrestling Review: NOC 2013 Review

Whats up everybody and welcome back to Pro Wrestling Review. This is going to be my Night of Champions review.

Pre Show: Tag Team Turmoil # 1 Contenders Match

As usual I didn't end up watching the pre show but it sounded like it could be a good match. All I know is that the Prime Time Players ended up winning and they became # 1 contenders for later it night. That's all I got for that match...moving on.

IC Title: Curtis Axel vs Kofi Kingston

The show started out with Triple H coming out and saying that in the wwe title match there would be no interference from anyone in the match. Then Paul Heyman and Curtis Axel come out. Heyman with somewhat of a beard; which I though was a nice touch to show that he had been nervous about the ppv all week. He and Axel ask Triple H to change the match with CM Punk but the Game declines and he 0bputs Axel in a match with his IC title on the line right then. There seemed to be some tension between Heyman and Axel which was kind of surprising because I doubt they're going to split them up because I don't know what else Axel would do.

I'm glad they put this match on the card because A it's night of champions and B I thought it was a good match to start the show off with. More importantly than all of that though it made Axel look more credible going into his match with CM Punk. The booking on that match has been all over the place and since Punk had beaten Axel in a match with almost the same stimulation on raw it seemed like Axel had no chance of winning the match at the ppv. His win over Kofi helped make him more credible. I was accualy surprised that he won because since Kofi was on the ppv poster I was kind of expecting him to win.

The match was pretty good; one highlight was when Axel tried to throw Kofi into the stairs but Kofi jumped up onto the ropes and jumped back onto Axel. That was a really cool moment and  Kofi Kingston, he may not get pushes very often but whenever he's in a match it's always very entertaining. I hope wwe does something with him.

I wish that they would have found a faster way to start the match because the segment before seemed more like an episode of raw than a ppv. The thing I really didn't like about it was that once again we had the two biggest heels in wwe Triple H and Paul Heyman in a segment where they are against each other. I don't understand why wwe does that; they need to be putting as much heat on Triple H as they can and putting him in segments where he seems somewhat like a face doesn't make scene.

Divas Title: AJ vs Naomi vs Natalia vs Brie Bella

This was an ok match and the big thing in it was Natalia putting a double sharp shooter on Brie Bella and Naomi. But it didn't work so well; mainly because of the announcers. When Natalia put Naomi on top of Brie to set it up the announcers kept saying that the ref should counted the pin. Now while that may have technically been true there was no reason for them to keep pointing it out because that obviously wasn't where the match was going. Natalia was very slow putting it on though so maybe she just decided to do it during the match and the announcers didn't know what was going on. Who knows but the spot just came on very odd.

In the end AJ ends up winning, retaining the divas championship.

WHC: Alberto Del Rio vs Rob Van Dam

I guess you could kind of say this match had build up but it wasn't very good build up. One complaint I have about the build up is that they kept having Rob Van Dam vs Damien Sandow. In every match (which was three matches) Van Dam won cleanly. Sandow isn't someone that wwe can have lose three matches in a row; he's supposed to be Mr money in the bank. A perfect way to end at least one or two of those matches would have been to have Del Rio somehow cost RVD the victory. Then your helping the feud by giving Van Dam a real reason to not like Del Rio and your not burying Damien Sandow.

Also added to that is Sandow didn't have a match on Night of Champions because since Cody Rhodes got "fired" on raw a few weeks ago Sandow didn't have anyone to fight. So Sandow basically got dominated in his feud with Cody Rhodes, he jobbed to RVD three times in a row and he didn't even get a match on Night of Champions. I really hope wwe isn't burying another potential top star.

Back to the whc match, before it they had a very awkward segment with RVD and Ricardo Rodriguez. It didn't come off right at all and it was just very strange to watch. I thought they were going to have Ricardo cost Van Dam the match and go back to Del Rio because I just can't see him and RVD staying together after this feud with Del Rio. They still might do at Battleground.

The match was good and it ended with Del Rio being disqualified, I think it was after he wouldn't release the cross arm breaker. Afterward RVD hits Del Rio with the move where he dropkicks a chair into Del Rio's head from standing on the top turnbuckle. That was kind of cool and I liked the match but it wasn't as good as the Christian/Del Rio one from last month.

U.S. Title: Dean Ambrose vs Dolph Ziggler

This match I was really looking forward to; I said in my NOC preview that it had the potential to be a great match and I was right. Ambrose and Ziggler worked really good together and Ambrose ended up winning after countering into his finisher. I'm a big fan of both pf these wrestlers and even though Dean Ambrose's US title reign hasn't gone exactly like I wanted it to (mainly because of it not being booked that good) this match will definitely be a one of the big things that I'll take away from his title reign. They also had a rematch on raw that even though it probably should have waited until Battleground was very good as well.

Paul Heyman/Curtis Axel vs CM Punk

The booking for this match has been all over the place. It was very confusing to figure out what the stimulation for it was and it was just confusing in general. For one they had basically the same exect match on raw a few weeks ago and Axel lost cleanly to Punk not to mention that Punk has also beaten him on several other occasions. I'm glad that they gave Axel that win over Kofi Kingston earlier in the night but even so it still didn't seem like he had a chance of winning.

I enjoyed the match and eventually Punk did end up beating Curtis Axel. So then he drags Punk to the ring and starts beating him. This goes on for a while until Ryback comes out and forces Punk through table. It was pretty cool just because of how brutal it looked. Even so I'm still not that interested in Ryback but I guess giving him a manager is a step in the right direction. On raw though Paul Heyman and Ryback had a very very strange and awkward segment.

TT Title: The Shield (Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins) vs the Prime Time Players

This was a good match and hopefully it made the Prime Time Players seem like an important team. They did come up a little bit short however because the shield ended up retaining the titles. I'm guessing that the PTP's tag team title run isn't too far away though.

WWE Title: Daniel Bryan vs Randy Orton

The first few weeks of the build up for this storyline after Summerslam was awesome although felt like by the third or fourth week it was getting a little repetitive with Bryan always getting beat down. After this match though the storyline has really heated up again.

Before I talk about it though I have to say that I loved that segment between one of my favorite wrestlers of Edge and Triple H. That was an awesome confrontation and both of them weren't holding anything back.

This match was pretty good; it wasn't as good as the no holds barred one that they had back in June but it was still good. In the end Bryan hit that running knee to face and then pinned Orton with a very quick count by the referee. Then the next day on raw Triple H striped Bryan of championship because of the so called conspiracy with the fast count. Like I said before this really got me back into the storyline; it gave Bryan a night of victory before having it all taken away by Triple H on raw. Also this really hepled Randy Orton; after being called out by Stephanie on raw he's become an awsome heel. This match did a lot of good for everybody and it set up the episode of raw following it for some great storyline progression.

Pro Wrestling Review: Night of Champions 2013 Preview

Hello everybody and welcome to my Night of Champions preview. I'm going to be going through the matches and giving my predictions on what I think will happen.

Pre Show: TT Turmoil: Tons of Funk vs Prime Time Players vs 3MB vs The Real Americans vs The Usos.

This has the potential to be a pretty decent match. The only team that I'm expecting to win is the Prime Time Players; the Usos are somewhat of a possibility but since they already had they're match with for titles at MITB I'm going to go with the PTP. Also it feels like they're trying to give the players a push so putting them as the # 1 contenders would make scene. I wish they would've built this match up more though, they should've had this match on raw a few weeks before because that way they'd have time to build up to the title match match.

Probably one of the reasons that it hasn't been built up is because I think they were going to have Mark Henry and Big Show challenge for the titles until Henry got injured. Assuming that the Players do win the pre show match I'm not quite sure who will win the actual title match. I'm kind of thinking the Prime Time Players might get the titles because one: I don't see Daniel Bryan winning the wwe title and if Dolph Ziggler doesn't win the US title than they have to give the babyface some kind of a victory. Although it would have helped if the PTP had been involved at least somewhat in the corporation storyline since they're probably going to be trying take the titles from two members of the corporation. The second reason that I could see the PTP winning the titles is because it seems like wwe is trying to do something with the them and other teams like the Real Americans but it just doesn't seem all that important because there's nothing on the line. If the players got the titles then they're matches with the Usos and Real Americans would seem a lot more important. I also don't feel that the Shield really needs the tag team titles as much as the other teams in the tag team division do. I think that as long as Dean Ambrose keeps the US than the Shield will be fine without the tag titles.

The one reason that I think the shield still has a somewhat good chance of keeping the titles is because Mark Henry and Big Show haven't had their title match with the shield so they might have them keep the titles until they have that match. That would depend on the condition of Mark Henry and when he's scheduled to return though.

I'm still gonna go with the prime time players because I feel like it would do them a lot more good than it would for the shield to.

Pick: Prime Time Players

U.S. Title: Dean Ambrose vs Dolph Ziggler

Ever since Dolph Ziggler got into the feud with the corporation he's gone up a lot in my book; now that might say a little bit more about Ziggler's character that he had before than it does about the corporation storyline. That being said I do think it has definitely helped him and I'm really looking forward to this match. I think it has the potential to be very very good. I think there is a chance of Ziggler winning just because they need to give the resistance (which is actually a cool name for them) a victory and even if the Shield loses the tag team titles their match hasn't been built up enough to feel important.

I would prefer if Ambrose keeps the title though because one: the shield needs to keep at least one title and two: if Ziggler gets the US title then it shows everybody that he's officially back in the midcard. Since he's still on very shaky ground with where he is in wwe right now I think giving him the US title wouldn't do much good. The match should be good though.

Pick: Dean Amrose

Divas title AJ vs Natalia vs Naomi vs Brie Bella

The divas division has really heated up ever since AJ cut that awesome shoot type promo on the entire division. I knew when she won the title that there was the potential for her to really turn the division around but I didn't know if she'd be able to do it on her own since she's the only really good diva that wwe is pushing right now. So far though she's been the subject of more positive conversations towards the division than anything or anyone has for years. Also total divas has been helping some as well. It isn't my type of show but it has been making people somewhat interested in the divas and it gave AJ the platform or reason to cut that awesome promo.

I'm guessing that AJ will win here and then maybe she'll go on to feud with Naomi or Natalia.

Pick: AJ

Well it looks like I ran out of time to talk about the last few matches but I will quickly give you my predictions. I'm predicting Aberto Del Rio to retain with Ricardo costing RVD the championship. I'm also going with Punk to win his match and then either Brock Lesner or a new Paul Heyman guy (hopefully Wade Barrett) to attack Punk and save Heyman. Then for the WWE title match I'm going with Randy Orton to retain and somehow screw Bryan out of the title.

I will be talking fully about all of the matches and their build up when I do my Night of Champions review in a few days. Enjoy the ppv.

Pro Wrestling Review: SS 2013 Review part 2/ WWE Title Picture

Welcome back to Pro Wrestling Review. Today I'm going to be giving part 2 of my Summerslam 2013 review and I'm also going to be talking about everything going in the wwe title picture.

First off I'll start out talking about the wwe title match at summerslam between John Cena and Daniel Bryan. I really enjoyed this match; it started off a little slow but once it got going it was very good. It's a match that I'll definitely be watching again and I'd say it's probably number two for match of the year only behind the CM Punk vs Brock Lesner from earlier on in the night.
The match ends when Bryan does that knee to the face move to Cena which kind of came out no where and then he pinned Cena for the win. I kind of like that knee move that Bryan does now and hopefully he'll get a name for it. I would've liked to see Cena tap out to Daniel Bryan but I'm just glad that he put Bryan over.

Afterwards there was a big celebration, Bryan shook hands with John Cena and Triple H and then Randy Orton came out. He just looked at Daniel until Triple H pedigreed Bryan from behind and then Orton cashed in to win the WWE Championship.

I really enjoyed that match and I've REALLY enjoyed everything that's come afterwards. This storyline just seems so big and important and there's a different, better feel to wwe these days. I really like how they're stacking everything against Daniel Bryan. He got through John Cena which isn't an easy thing to do in the wwe and he was on top of the world but then it all came crashing down; now he has so many layers of consperisy against him that is keeping him from the wwe title. He's got the Shield members, Vince and Stephanie, Triple H, and then Randy Orton himself. I just love this storyline and it makes you really get on Bryan's side. This is coming from someone who was already a huge Daniel Bryan fan before he got into the wwe title picture, I have my Yes Yes Yes gear and everything. Now though he's risen to another level, whenever I look at him he seems like such a hero and an underdog who's fighting a huge uphill battle. That's what a great storyline with great villains does for a babyface, especially a young, new babyface like Daniel Bryan.

The villains of this storyline have been great playing their part in all of this and really stacking the deck against Bryan. At first I wasn't too sure about turning HHH heel because he is such a legend at this point in his career but if you want to get heat on somebody then make them screw over the most over babyface in the company Daniel Bryan. Now after seeing these last few weeks of tv I have no doubt in my mind that turning Hunter was right decision. He has been absolutely amazing playing his character now that he's heel. He seems so full of life and he reminds me of the Vince McMahon character but with his own spin on it. He has played his character to a t and he's done a great job making Bryan into this huge hero that the fans want to get behind. He's been so good that he probably needs to find a balance and let Randy Orton step in too because HHH seems like the main villain in this not Orton. Hopefully they will be able to find that balance and I'm sure that this will lead to matches with Daniel Bryan against both Orton and Triple H.

I've  heard some fans that were angry that Bryan didn't get his big title reign after summerslam but while I do think it would have been good stuff with him as champion after SS, what's going on right now is absolutely amazing stuff. While I do think he would have become a top star if he had a title reign after Summerslam, now he can become a mega star with this storyline and when he does finally get the wwe championship back, when he finally overcomes this huge challenge it will be a huge moment, probably lot's bigger than his summerslam win.

I've heard people compare what's going on right now to when another internet darling so to speak was champion: CM Punk. When Punk was champion especially after his feud with Cena to when he faced Chris Jericho at Wresltemania 28, he was just running through all of the top heels on roster. He went right through Alberto Del Rio and that was in my opinion the main reason that Del Rio's character didn't work after. After that feud with Punk you just couldn't take Del Rio seriously because Punk had ended up making him look like a complete fool and it took him about two years to recover. The Del Rio thing is a different subject though; after that CM Punk ran through Miz, Ziggler and he even had to face John Lorinigtus because they ran out of top heels. Then they had to bring Chris Jericho back so that CM Punk could have someone to face at Wrestlemania.

So with Punk he just ran through people and it wasn't very entertaining at all. Raw even got the lowest ratings since 1997 at that time because it just wasn't interesting. CM Punk had no challenge.

Now I'm not saying that Daniel Bryan would've ran through people AS bad as CM Punk did but I don't think that it would've been as entertaining as this. The point I'm trying to make here is with Punk he had no challange and it wasn't interesting at all. Bryan would've had somewhat of a challange with the people that he would've fought for the title but now he has the ultimate challange.

In my opinion the journey to the title is usually better that the the title reign itself and when you have a great journey with a huge challenge then it makes the title reign itself better because the fans know that the person really really worked for it.

I think that this storyline has the ability to make Daniel Bryan into the next top dog. I don't want to get too ahead of myself here but Bryan's 32 or 33 right now I think, so he has a good 7 or so years of being a top guy. That's about how long Stone Cold and The Rock were when they were at the top about, about seven years.

Now like I said I know that I might be going a bit too far ahead inthe future here but in the present we have a super entertaining storyline, and if there ever was a time for John Cena to be gone it's now. I'm not glad that he's injured but I do think that a few months off for him will do a lot of good because he's worked a very hard schedule these last last basically eight years. That aside though Cena being gone gives Bryan the room to become a top guy and be the hero of this storyline. Kind of like in 2000 I think it was when Stone Cold got injured; The Rock took over as the top baby face and  he was a huge star. I see the same thing happening for Daniel Bryan.

This has been a great year so far for the wwe product; the summer that usually suffers some especially last year, was awesome and now it looks like this fall season is going to be even better. We have this amazing storyline going on and then throw in the Paul Heyman/CM Punk one too and you've got some awesome tv. I said earlier that there's a different feel to wwe these days and there really is; if it wasn't for Daniel Bryan putting on amazing matches every week I might forget that I'm watching wrestling and start thinking I'm watching an awesome tv show.

Another good thing about this storyline is that it that it's helping other superstars as well. Superstars like the Shield; they've been kind of lost in the shuffle these last few months but now they have a reason and purpose again in wwe. Now they're interesting again. It's also been helping the other baby faces that are against the corporation. People like Big Show, Dolph Ziggler, Cody Rhodes, and The Miz.

These last few months of wwe have been really good and I'm thoroughly enjoying this storyline. I think that it will do Daniel Bryan a lot more good than having a wwe championship reign right now will would.
